Comet Wilson 1986 I
In
February of 1987, Comet Wilson was visible to the naked eye as a faint
5th magnitude object. It was a great binocular object, too. In
the telescope it displayed a bright, well condensed coma.
On
June 11th, 1987 I shot the image below with my Meade 8 inch Newtonian.
I used Hypered Tri-X film. This was a 12 minute exposure, hand quided,
using a Lumicon off axis guider and my Olympus OM-1 Astro modified
camera.
